Part 1 is the first 3500 words of a new supernatural mystery in development featuring heroine Alicia Fox, 21, a bright and curious genealogist who sets out to research her ancestor- a revolutionary war hero. However, Ali uncovers an ancient and spectral family secret....and an unexpected and formidable enemy:

          It’s a Friday night, and the Swayback is hopping Alicia laughs to herself as she tugs on the front door handle.  The dark musty bar is full of people. The bouncer, a bulky dude, exhibiting a ZZ Top beard gives her the once over.  He spends an uncomfortably long time staring at her driver’s license. 
          He’s trying to memorize my address, or simply can’t believe that a Maryland girl showed up tonight. He’s got that wind-blown look and his long shiny blond hair hangs down his back in a sloppy braid fastened with a turquoise clip. He smells vaguely of liquor and clove cigarettes. 
          Released from the examination, Alicia sits at a small high-top table near the wall, and within moments, a short skinny blond waitress with the nametag “Bonnie” approaches her....
