Part 3 is the next 3500 words- Ali meekly trods the streets of Paris after the debacle at Jacob's apartment, her hot and plentiful tears reducing the city lights to glazy blotches. And her nose is running! Ali has no idea what's in store for her, or just how much can happen on a sultry evening in Paris.

Here's a sample:

Alicia started when she turned to face a couple of boys. Tall and thin, they both wore a few weeks of beard stubble, filthy bubble goose hoodies, blue jeans, and sported black masks bearing a single red star inside a white circle stamped front and center. Apparently, they had made their way along the very narrow alley between the buildings. She wondered how much of her conversation they had heard.

The closest boy, in grey and blue, spoke. “Puis-je s’il vous plait utilizer votre telephone portable?”

“Oh, I’m sorry…” Alicia replied. After all, she had only managed a C+ in high school French.

“Ahh, you are American…He says…he needs to use your phone…” The taller boy in burnt orange and black added in C+ English. He was scanning the space around them. “To call his mother…” he added as he smiled.

“Uh-“ Alicia put her cell into her pocket. “It just died. Sorry!”

“Donne moi ton portable s’il te plait…”

          “He says…”

Alicia did not need any further translation; she was being mugged. She began to slowly walk backward.

“Give him your cell phone, before he decides he wants anything else…”

The boy in grey and blue produced a small dirty pocket knife.

Alicia stopped moving. The boys slowly moved closer to her. The burnt orange and black produced his own knife; a longer. shiny, fixed handle thing that had “f**k you up” written all over it. “Now, we will have your wallet too…”

Alicia moved backward again, and instantly felt a solid brick wall behind her. She had misjudged the location of the street.

          Both boys snickered.

"Peut-etre voulez-vous jouer a des jeux?” the grey and blue asked.

“        "He said…” Burnt orange started.

"No games….I promise…no games. Just let me take my wallet out of my suitcase…”

“        "Et si je te baise avec mon couteau?” he asked.

"Uh, that won’t be necessary…” Alicia knelt to open her travel case and the boys moved quickly standing over her, only inches away.
